COOKIE POLICY
This Cookie Policy applies to the information Seer Healthcare, Inc., and its respective subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “Seer Healthcare”, “we”, “us”, “our”, “Company”, or such terms of similar correlative meaning) collect through the desktop websites, mobile-optimized websites, software applications, mobile applications, social media pages, email communications, and all other online services we provide, including those properties and applications which link to or reference this Cookie Policy (collectively the “Services”).
Please note that our use of any personal information we collect about you is subject to our Privacy Policy.
Similar to other websites, our sites and Services utilize cookies and other similar technologies (e.g. web server logs, web beacons, HTML5 Local Storage, local shared objects, tags, and scripts) to collect information about how our Services are used, authenticate your access to various areas of our Services, understand your interests, analyze website traffic, detect and prevent fraud, provide interest-based advertising, improve our Services, personalize content, and track the effectiveness of our emails.
What are cookies and what data do they collect?
Cookies are small data files stored by a user’s web browser on the user’s computer or device at the request of a website. Cookies assign a unique numerical identifier to a user’s web browser in order to enable web servers to recognize the device used to access a website. Cookies enable us to recognize you as the same user who was at our Services in the past, and relate your use of the Services to other information about you, such as your site usage information and personal information.
A web beacon (also known as a “clear GIF” or “pixel tag”) is a tiny image – typically just one-pixel – that can be placed on a web page or in our electronic communications to you in order to help us measure the effectiveness of our content by, for example, counting the number of individuals who visit us online or verifying whether you’ve opened one of our emails or seen one of our web pages.
There are many different types of cookies and uses of data collected by them. Information gathered through cookies and web server logs may include the date and time of website visits, the pages viewed, time spent on our website, and the websites visited just before and just after our website.
What types of cookies do the Services use?
The cookies used on our Services have been categorized as per the table below. However, it is important to note that not all cookies may be used in all jurisdictions or websites. A list of the categories of cookies used on our Services is set out below.
Category | Description |
Essential Cookies | These cookies are necessary for the Services to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the Services will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information. |
First-party Analytics Cookies | These cookies allow us to employ data analytics so we can measure and improve the performance of our Services and provide more relevant content to you. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies a visitor down to an individual level that is available to us. These cookies are not passing personally identifiable information to any external third-party other than in limited cases when we engage a service provider to act on our behalf but who is then unable to use the data for their own purposes. |
Performance Cookies | These cookies are generally third-party cookies from vendors we work with or who work on our behalf that collect information about your visit and use of the Services, for instance which pages you visit the most often, and if you get error messages from web pages. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is anonymous and is only used to improve how the website works. Third-party vendors may have access to this data and may use it to improve their overall services and offerings. |
Session Cookies | Our Services may place temporary session cookies on your computer or device to help us confirm who you are and to help you navigate the website during your visits. These cookies will be deleted automatically when you close your website browsing session. The information collected via session cookies is collected on an aggregate basis. None of this information is associated with you as an individual. |
Functional Cookies | These cookies allow a site to remember choices you make (such as your username, language or the region you are in) and provide more enhanced, personal features. These cookies cannot track your browsing activity on other websites. They don’t gather any information about you that could be used for advertising or remembering where you’ve been on the Internet outside our Services. |
Advertising and Social Media Cookies | Advertising and social media cookies (including web beacons and other tracking and storage technologies) are used to (1) deliver advertisements more relevant to you and your interests; (2) limit the number of times you see an advertisement; (3) help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign; (4) retargeting to our Services/information and (5) understand people’s behavior after they view an advertisement. They are usually placed on behalf of advertising networks with the site operator’s permission. They remember that you have visited a site and quite often they will be linked to site functionality provided by the other organization. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. |
Targeting Cookies | These cookies may be set through our Services by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and Internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising. |
Third-party Analytics Services
We may use services hosted by third-parties to collect information about how users use our Services, allowing us to compile reports and improve its functionality. Some third-party services collect aggregated non-personal information, such as the information sent by a browser as part of a web page request, IP addresses, time and duration of website visits, and/or how you found our website, such as via a search engine or social media. Such third-parties may also transfer this information to third-parties where required to do so by law, or where such third-parties process the information on such provider’s behalf. To opt-out of your information being included in our reports, you may contact us via email at privacy@seerhealthcare.com.
We use Google Analytics and Datadog to provide analytics on our Services. For more information about Google’s privacy practices, please see here. To opt out of Google Analytics, visit here. For more information about Datadog’s privacy practices, see here.
Marketing
Other third-party services may also combine the personal information you provide us (such as your email address) with cookies or other website tracking mechanisms. These services may be used to gather information, allowing us to provide you with more information about products or services in which you might be interested.
Advertising
Sponsors or advertisers on our websites may use their own cookies, web beacons or other online tracking technologies in the advertisements served through our Services and in emails, special promotions, newsletters or communications we send you. Some advertisers use companies other than the Company to serve their advertisement and to monitor users’ responses to advertisement, and these companies (“Ad Servers”) may also collect site usage information through the use of cookies or web beacons. In certain situations, information collection may be facilitated by momentarily directing your browser to the website of an Ad Server or other third-party acting on behalf of the sponsor or advertiser before redirecting your browser to its selected destination. This redirection process may not be apparent to you.
To learn more about interest-based advertising, visit Network Advertising Initiative, Your Online Choices, YourAdChoices: Digital Advertising Alliance, and All About Cookies.
For information about how to “opt out” of cookies placed by the Network Advertising Initiative’s member advertising networks, please contact the third-party companies or follow the instructions that can be found at NAI Consumer Opt Out or DAA WebChoices Opt Out. You need to opt out for each browser, on each device you use to surf the Web. Thus, if you use multiple browsers (e.g., Safari, Chrome, MS Edge, Firefox, etc.), you should repeat this procedure with each one. Similarly, if you connect to the Internet from multiple devices (e.g., work and home), you need to explicitly opt out from each browser on each device. However, if you opt out, we may still suggest offerings to you on our Services based on your history on our Services.
Mobile Applications
When you download and install our mobile applications onto your device, we may assign a number to your application installation. This number cannot be used to identify you personally, and we cannot identify you personally unless you choose to become a registered user of the application. We use this number in a manner similar to our use of cookies as described above. Unlike cookies, the number is assigned to your installation of the application itself and not a browser because the application does not work through your browser. Therefore, the random number cannot be removed through settings. If you do not want us to use the random number for the purposes for which we use cookies, please do not use the mobile application.
Managing Your Cookies
You can manage cookies through the settings of your Internet browser. You can choose to block or restrict cookies from being placed on your computer or device. You can also periodically review the cookies that have been placed there and disable some or all of them.
You always have a choice over whether or not to accept cookies. When you first visit the Services and we notify you about our use of cookies, you can choose not to consent to such use. You can choose not to continue accepting cookies at any later time. In this section, we describe ways to manage cookies, including how to disable them. Please be aware that if you choose not to accept certain cookies, it may mean we are unable to provide you with some Services or features of the Services.
As many websites rely on cookies and/or other tracking tools to help tailor a user’s experience, most Internet browsers are initially set up to accept them. You can disable cookies or other types of tracking tools through your computer or device’s Internet browser settings. You should check your Internet browser settings if you have any questions regarding disabling cookies.
“Do Not Track”
Some web browsers may transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals to the websites with which the user communicates. Because of differences in how web browsers incorporate and activate this feature, it is not always clear whether users intend for these signals to be transmitted, or whether they even are aware of them. We currently do not change our tracking practices (which are explained in more detail in this Cookie Policy and in our Privacy Policy) in response to DNT settings in your web browser.
Our third-party partners, such as Google, Datadog, etc. collect information about your online activities over time and across our Services and other online properties. These third-parties may not change their tracking practices in response to DNT settings in your web browser and we do not obligate these parties to honor DNT settings.
Questions or Concerns
If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy or relating to our use of your information, you can contact us via email at privacy@seerhealthcare.com.
Changes to Cookie Policy
In order to keep up with changing legislation and best practices, we may revise this Cookie Policy at any time without notice by posting a revised version on this website. So please check back periodically so that you are aware of any changes.
